Question for you 4.5 gen owners...

When you put in a VQ35 is there any space left to be able to install a turbocharger (or two ) since i've heard that the uprgrade leaves little space for anything else but looking at some pics it doesn't seem like it. Also, what kinda mileage you get running the VQ35 on a 4th gen MAX?

Way more than a FWD needs.

The VQ35 is the same size as the VQ30 on the outside.
Thus there is plenty of room for one turbo, but not enough for two really.

ok so my original plan was to just go boost, but now hearing that you can go 3.5 + boost it makes me weep with joy

Id like to see some numbers as well i bet its crazy.

Not like a VQ35 turbo hasn't been done before... just look at a few turbo 350z dynos, it's probably pretty much like theirs except worse topend.

But yes I agree, a VQ35TT would be pretty sweet.

doesn't the 4th gen MAX weigh almost twice what a 350z weighs besides a 350z is rwd and MAX is FWD. if only you could put HICAS (or better yet ATTESSA!!!) into a VQ35T MAX, then the MAX would really be a beast!!!

WTF? The 4th gen max is lighter than the 350z.

BTW, HICAS is 4-wheel steering and has nothing to do with traction.

So let me get this straight... just because the max has twcie as many DOORS as a 350Z, it WEIGHTS twice as much?.... So hicas, can turn all 4 wheels for ubber steering response, I fail to see how that helps the traction problem, like nismology mentioned.

Whats the next thing you'll come up with? 4th gens with ABS have better traction when they launch???

I didn't know 350z is heavier than 4th gen MAX I assumed it was (it's good to know it isn't though!) sorry, plus I never mentioned anything about HICAS improving traction (I didn't think anyone would assume that so sorry if I didn't make myself clear) but if I could pick between HICAS or ATTESSA (i dunno if I'm spelling it right) 10/10 i'd go for ATTESSA that's what I was going at, but I'm GUESSING it would be easier (if possible) to install HICAS instead of ATTESSA.

Forgive me for being a n00b!

Installing HICAS would pretty much be worthless... I mean it would be kind of nice on a FWD car but it would add a crapload of weight and detract from the driving experience. It really doesn't do all that much.

Ummm, I'd love to have a VQ35 in my 4th gen. I've heard the Top Secret TT for the VQ35 can really layout some power, I doubt I'd ever go that route myself.

Tweaking the engine itself should give ~350hp and would be more drivable. If 350hp in a 4thgen Max isn't enough for you...you've go the wrong car.

Good luck trying to lay out a TT setup on our FWD setup.

The 3.5L turbo 4th gens are putting down more power than can be easily handled on the track even with DRs or slicks on a FWD car. They also seem to run amost 12 seconds flat on their first trip to the track in Tilley's case or mid 11s all day long in Mardi's case! Its deffinitely a whole new world you'd be getting yourself into, that only the extremely knowledgeable (and highly funded btw) guys have really gotten themselves into!
