00VI w/ stock intake
Well after 20 hours I got everything put in and the car started up no problem. I had a little trouble get the EGR Guide Pipe to sit properly, so I had to cut of the small round piece to get the plate to fit snug underneath the intake manifold.

Just so people will know if you want to keep your stock intake especially if your automatic you will need to purchase the Duct-Air 16578-31U00, Clamp-Hose 16439-31U00, and Clamp-Air Clean 14464-W1500. Than simple connect both air hoses and clamp the middle down. I cut a 1" wide Goyo Can to provide some reinforcement for the clamp.

This was my ghetto fabrication for the IACV. Two 1/4" plates.

The car has alot of pick up and the much needed top speed that the VQ30-DE lacked. I would say one of the best mods you can do.

Its idling descent. Under no load the car idles around 850 to 875 rpm and under load the car would idle at 650 rpm. The only strange thing I'm getting is when I come to a stop the rpm will drop to about 825 than drop again. Almost feels like its surging. I"m going to keep playing around with the idle and see how it works. The hose I'm using is 3/8" ID and I'm not even sure if that's big enough. I'm thinking I might try 5/8" if I can't get the idle to where I want it.

I got a question. When people used the 4th gen TPS on the 5 gen TB, were you able to get throttle response reading right away from looking at the VAFC. It seems like I have to push the pedal a little ways down before the throttle % on the VAFC actually starts to move.

.. Anyway, I left the IACV in place and opened the TB plate just a little bit to compensate for the retardation..
speed racer, where did you get your adapter plate from? did you use one for the TB as well? it looks like you used a 5th gen TB and i'm guessing you just blocked off the IACV on that?
would you be willing to make me some plates?

I made everything myself. Its not really quality either. The block off plate for the bottom of the TB is fairly simple to make but the IACV is a little harder if you don't have the right cutting tool. I don't know how I was able to cut the aluminum using a dremel, but I swear I went through 10 cutting discs before I was done. Try StephenMax b/c you might get a quick turn around.

From all accounts it doesn't do shiet unless it's on the USIM in the stock location.

Cold starts 1500ish. Warm to 600-700. My IACV is in a stockish location tho

Base Idle adjusting is in the howto's

But your using the 4th gen TB. doesn't that have an adverse affect on the IACV when it pertains to the Fast Cam.
By the way I have a air leak by my PCV so I will be taking car of that problem and than try to get the idle down b/c under no load its at 950 rpm. I also need to adjust the TPS on the TB. I think its not aligned correctly b/c the VAFC isn't reading a response until I push hard on the pedal.

I haven't grounded it yet. I'm thinking of extending the ground wire and put an eyelet on so I can ground it to the manifold. A good spot is right next to the FPR where the vacuum tube rail bracket bolts to the manifold.
I'm using the VAFC to work as a switch. You can drill a hole from the engine bay to inside the car from underneath the steering column. There is a rubber pannel that can be removed on the firewall. Just drill into there. It will come out on the side, next to the Master Cylinder.
My strut bar is hitting the top of the 5th gen TB, but I just bent the rod to make it fit. Hopefully nothing happenes.
