Ya, getting rid of them dim was nice!

 

Is there any downside to this? Any problems with overheating or anything? Anyone had any problems?

 

Mine worked fine, but when I turned on my car and then the lights it blew a fuse. I replaced the blown 7.5A fuse witha 15A fuse and it worked. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Anyone have any suggestions? They look really "Dope" though!!

 

But wasn't the 7.5A fuse there for a reason in the first place? Is upgrading it to 15A good for the wires and all? Or does it make a difference?

 

Ya, maybe I should mention something about that. Mine have not blown but I have heard that a couple people's have blown. I'm not sure that upping the fuse is good. I would rather have it blow, and just replace the fuse.

 

Why is not good to up the fuse? It only blows when I turn my car and with the 15A fuse it hasn't blown yet. It made sense to me because rewiring them is upping the watts. I don't know maybe I am wrong. But it has worked so far.

I am no electrician but the wiring in that section of the car was originally designed to take a certain amount of wattage. Upping the fuse allows more wattage through which might cause some problems with the wiring or who knows what else. Like I said, I am no electrician so if someone who really knows about this kind of stuff could respond, I would appreciate it.

 

i to did this mod tonight......it was very simple, but the only thing was the first one was a snap, i turned the lights on to see if i had done it right and tada it worked, i did the second one exactly the same, but it would not turn on....then i thought maybe the bulb was burnt out so i swapped em' nope no such luck,....so i went to put the one back in the other side and now none of em' worked...so i decided to say f u c k it and i put it all back together so i could drive home and finish it tomorrow.....so i backed out of my shop, and walked around my car and no tail lights....so i new the problem....to make this long story short, i eventually ended up putting a 15 amp under the hood, and a 30 in the dash......will i have probs w/this????

 

now all you have to do is slap that front speaker how 2 on there, you know the deal with props.

 

I don't understand why some people blow fuses. I have never had a problem in the 1 yr I've had this done.

 

tonight on my way home this saturn tried to race me...while in the process of stomping a mudhole in its @$$ i blew the tail light fuse, i replaced started the car backed up turned the lights on...and i noticed smoke rollin out by the passenger side light......i imedialty turned everything off......it fried the friggin wires....HOW do i go about fixing the wires....so i have to buy new ones or what....cuz i don't have any tail lights now, cuz if i put the fuse back in it will start on fire.....so until someone helps me.....no driving at night......this sucks......

 

No problems yet and I don't anticipate any, hehe. I didn't realize how bright those lights got until last night while actually driving. They shine a big spot on the ground on each side of the regular headlights. This isn't illegal is it? Not like I care anyway...

 

Naaaahhh! Just pull all your sub 20s and replace with 20s! Problem solved! (trolling for a post from Daniel)

so does anyone know how to go about fixing the wires that fried.....also does anyone know wtf caused this?????

 

I would venture to say it was a short in the wire somewhere. Trace the wire and look for some sort of kink or split in it. Also look at the connector and make sure you soldered it good. Thats about as far as I can help ya.
