M/T 22x8x15 or M&H 23x7.5x15 on Sawblades 15/6.5
M/T 22x8x15 or M&H 23x7.5x15 on Sawblades 15/6.5
(if this belongs to the tire/wheel section someone please move it, sory)
Im going to purchase slicks, but I need to know what will be best for my rims. I have the sawblades which are 15/6.5. I have heared good from both slicks but will there be problems mounting either one on the narrow 6.5 rim? also considering that i am auto will the 22" m/t be more beneficial to me due to them being 1" shorter and shorten the gearing giving me a better 60' than 23"?

The 22" MT slick will definitely mount on the stock 6.5" wheels. I got them to mount on my 15x6 Millenia wheels just fine.
The 23" slick will still give you about the same amount of traction, but since it's a bigger slick, you lose the gearing you need and you will get slower in the 1/4 mile with the power you're pushing.
I think the 22" MT slick is by far the best slick for you to go with. If you could go smaller, it would be better.
MT makes a 20" slick for a 14" wheel, but I tried and it won't fit fit over the stock calipers. With your 00vi and if you had an extended rev limit, a 20" slick would be awesome.
But you will have no regrets with the MT 22" slick. Jime still uses them and he has a pretty high trap speed that you will never see (according to the fact that you said you want to stick with the 75 shot).
BTW, the 2nd pic you added is a street slick. You want a full slick unless you have to qualify for a class that requires DOT approved tires.

Thanx for your input. I will just go with the M/T then. and yea your right i want to stick with 75shot and get the best possible times with that, then when i see i cant get any better with 75 ill move up, but it should be fun enough with it. The M&H pictures i guess they have just a generic picture not the actual slick.
thanx
