Removing headlights in 2001 AE

I purchased some HID's from a member of this forum, and Edward Lee was very generous and hooked me up with the writeup to install them, but what I don't know how to do is remove the stock headlights. The only thing I see is the top 2 bolts, is that it? I did some searching and found there might be 2 bolts near the radiator but I wasn't able to see them and I think I might have been looking in the 4th gen forum I know it will take some eh... persuasion to get them out even after the bolts are removed, I just want to make sure all of them are Any help would be much appreciated.

I just removed mine today. It's somewhat simple:
Remove the two bolts and for me, I began to wiggle the light left to right until the side closest to the grill loosened and came out. From there you continue to wiggle/tub on it and the corner side will come out.

I don't really care about being able to put them back in But I assume I would just pull up on it while i am wiggling to avoid snapping that off, alright ill give it a shot

Hey I took the headlights out of my 02 when i cleared them/intalles angel eyes, and there was a third screw on the outer side (opposite the grill) that I could only access from the front of the front wheel well. It was a pain but doable. I'm not sure about the 01s, but if your having trouble with the wiggling, try that.

Also, put a towel or something on the bumper under the headlight so u wont scratch it up when u wiggle the light out

the clip i was saying not to break at the bottom of the headlight actually connects to the car. the headlight clips in to it. so you dont want to break it or the new headlights wont stay in right

Would it be better/safer to just remove the bumper?

that is to much work. The clip is a white clip if you wiggle the light out and not yank on it it should not break.
