VQ35 swap with VQ30 ECU wont start.

Hello,

After months of reliable service from this engine, it wont start this morning. Car has not been driven in about 3 weeks.

Quick check of things, and trying to not get to dirty... I have 12V at the spark plug, but no spark.

I am thinking one of the sensors that fires the spark plug went bye-bye?

Which sensor controls the spark timing? There is a sensor on the front and back of the crank shaft (seems silly, but that is the way it is).

Do I test the sensors with a scope? or is there a procedure to test it with a meter?

Thanks.

Download the FSM and check the crank and cam sensors. FSM will tell you how to check.

We need more info. Does it crank? Does it sputter?

Yup.. Cranks real good. I smell fuel, but no sputter at all.

Found the problem... The clearance between the cam sensor and the rear fascia is too close, and it broke the connector off of the sensor. I got it back on, engine started right up!

Thanks for the quick replies!
