noise from wheel well? Lets see if you know what it is

I have a 2000 maxima with Tein ss springs and illumna or whatever shocks. i had the axles replaced last feburary. I just got some new rims 18" had them on for two weeks perfect fit, got an alignment and balance car drove great for a bout a week now when i start off the line and give it a little gas i hear this grinding noise from my wheel well, i think it might be the bearing cuz the axle and cv boot are good. I really have no clue anyone?

dust shield behind the rotor rubbing backside of rotor, or pad wear indicators scraping.

i have had similar issues. i had a wheel bearing fail when i replaced my axle with the nut backing off since it wasnt flared. You will hear more noises popping out of nowhere in the days to come if this is the case. i currently have a strut bearing problem that i am fixing and it is the off the line grind, the turning the wheel at a standstill grind, and most recently the going over bumps grind/impact.

My suggestions, get the wheel off the ground and check radial play. Bounce the front end up and down to see if you hear any speaks or pops, and turn the steering wheel back and forth lock to lock and listen for a grinding.

Keep us posted

lol, yeah im in tennessee right now though. Well i looked at my brakes and one of them is missed the pad retainer plastic part not the metal piece. Is this a problem i need to fix right away, what does that little plastic piece do?

what little plastic piece?

The pad retainers should be metal. But if you're missing one, that could be causing your problem....

Well i guess it was just a wear indicator that is built on the pad, the plastic piece. It is on one front brake but not the other..............Anyways, ever since i have posted this thread, one like it have been popping up left and right. ill just go read those ones. BTW I think it was that dustt guard or whtever it is cuz i reached back there are pushed it back a little and havent heard the noise since. thaNKS
