Removing Fog Light Glare Shield (how-to)

Before I hear any , I will just state that I did this on my car for night driving on curvy/rural roads and not to be a and blind people.

*This was done on my '98, 95/96 guys may be different.

1.) remove plastic bolt cover
2.) remove two bolts securing foglight
3.) hold the fog as to not drop it and unclip connector to the harness
4.) remove fog light from car
5.) unscrew cap to gain access to the bulb/holder assembly
6.) unclip ground (black) wire and remove bulb
7.) remove retaining clip (that held the bulb) so as to not damage it
8.) gently pry the "lips" of the area where the bulb was clipped in (do not bend the ground location)
9.) slowly work each side and "jiggle" to check for improvement
10.) the glare shield and this assembly will come out as one
11.) remove glare shield from assembly
12.) press assembly back into the housing
13.) connect ground wire
14.) gently re-bend the "lips"
15.) re-install retaining clip
16.) re-install bulb
17.) screw the cap back on
18.) re-install on car, done.

Hope this helps anyone who may have wanted cut open their fogs instead.

FYI, you can't remove the glare shield this way on a '95/'96 model. You have to take apart the fog light housing to remove the shield

Hymm. The sheild comes through the same hole that the bulb goes through but I haven't seen the back of the 95/96 fogs in a few years.

On the 95/96, u cant remove it the same way....But, you can push it up and out of the way, thus creating the same affect.

Also should note that the yellow tint actually reduces glare. With the clear white it is a little more harsh.
