Silver G2 Caliper Paint ۞PICS۞

Like noone has ever seen this before but....
To follow up here from my new rotor and pad thread.

Finally got around to doing it. Was going to pull the calipers off and sand them down and all that mess, had the hardware forever. Instead, got some G2 paint. Still a PIA, took forever.
For some reason my front rotors rust like mad, even though they are new.
Here are some before and after.
Of course, more pics on the Homepage.

Looks a million times better. Just curious did you take off the entire caliper and bleem em or just tape everything off and paint?

Thanks.
Left caliper on. Basically only taped off the rubber grommets that holds on the outer bar and used a steady hand. You can see the tape in the pic.

Thats pretty impressive that you didnt tape off everything else. I taped literally half of my car. But I guess since it is silver it wont make as big of a difference as the blue that i used if you got a lil paint on something else.

you should have painted the rusty rotor cap while you were at it

Again very nice work.
Is that stuff spray-on or brush-on?

BTW- Painters trick, Use Reynolds Aluminum foil wrap to cover / protect hard to tape spots that you do not want overspray on. Very bendable.

those new rotors are looking pretty old. Take em off, sand off the rust with emery cloth, and use some high-heat spray paint on the hub area of the rotors.....

Same thing I did when I installed new rotors to keep the rust level down. Looks good Eric

I also think you need to apply NISMO decals to the calipers, FTMFW!

G2 paint is brush-on. I'll remember the foil bit.

Yeah, I will probably end up doing that. Insane how quickly they rust. I have some VHT aluminum that I will use.
Gonna pass on the NISMO stickers, feel'n "GT-R" right now...

Are those 245s? They look a little narrow on those wheels.

245 on a 7 inch wheel = falls off while cornering.

They're stickers...forgot where I got them from, but a lot of people are using them. And I have the 6th gen front brakes, so I'm not sure how well these would fit on the smaller 5.5 gen calipers. Thanks for the compliment!

I simply said by doing that, you're putting the tires at risk of falling off the wheels while cornering.

Epacy when did you get H-techs? I though you were dropped on Eibachs! Well anyway's good job on painting the calipers! I did mine the same color around 3K miles ago!
What new rotors did you go with anyway? Rusty...
Are those rotors OEM ones or what? They're designed completely different, no cooling spots or anything, just one whole peice!

He got them before I got mine which was well over a year ago...

And epacy, next time try buying some zinc plated rotors. A full year now with my setup and no rust

I have had H-techs for about 2.5 yrs.
Check the brake link I provided in my original post, it'll explain what rotors I have.

Resurrecting the thread...

I just wondered how your calipers have stood up after being painted. Wonder if the rust has already taken its toll.

Just need some pics before I do this

Just do it!!!! It's really easy. The hardest part is masking off the brake area.
Mine in black.

I'll try to get some this weekend. Been busy trying to get the rest of the car in order. Put on some new things.
Calipers still look as good as new.
