The se maxima had a tighter suspension and thicker sway bars. If you are looking for more of a performance ride changing the struts, springs, sway bars, and adding strut bars will help. Don't forget the performance tires.

well lots of people on here go with aftermarket struts. Konis are the favorite. KYB GR-2 and Tokico are the other two preferred brands. You can get some SE springs and swaybar, but I think you'd be better off buying Konis, according to 90% of the members on here. They have adjustable stiffness settings IIRC. And if you want to lower your ride, you can get drop springs that will still be tastefully stiff while giving your Max a more agressive stance as well. Stock SE components will be good, but I believe that you'll probably be more satisfied with some aftermarket struts and (optoinally) springs.

If the suspension is ALL original, then your struts are well past replacement time. if your not trying to do performance driving, the strut replacement will be your answer. i used KYB (front and rear) and thought I had a new car.

That is an automatic transmission setting, Power and Comfort mode. It adjusts shift points under normal (low to mid throttle) driving situations. You can buy any strut you like as the adjustable suspension will depend on the strut itself, not the car.

I think he's referring to the Nissan Sonar Suspension Damping control switch. It was an option for the SE and is rare.

oh, that may be. But I don't think it was an option in the SE's. I think it was only GXE's.
