Brake & Altenator light blinking intermittenly

Was driving this morning and noticed that the altenator and brake lights on dash were blinking intermittently. It seems like a loose connection. Could someone who has this problem tell me what it is?

Thanks in Advance

If your car is over 100K miles, may be the brushes in the alternator are worn out. You can take a look to see if that is the case first.

on the autozone one there is a spacer that you have to tap to create the right amount of space
