Whine under the hood..another one?

I get an almost whinning sound under the hood increases if I rev the engine, not the alternator or anything on the left hand side..it almost seems like it's coming from the throttle body area. When I put my hand on it and rev the engine there's a whooshing and high pitched smooth whine coming from around that area.. any ideas?

If it's the hoses where can I get replacement hoses, they're all different sizes!

Now I'm getting an 0201 code with a 0401 ...a little lost at what this compounded with the whining sound from under the hood could mean, any ideas?

the codes don't make sense...they started after coil pack died, i replaced it. O2 code popped up..now it's gone..0401 came up..0201 is to coil pack..but doesn't say which one.

Get a volt meter select ohms and measure resistance between terminal, resistance values are in stickies for coils and o2 sensor u gotta search--> don't go changing parts that are fine.

Check the coil packs with a meter as stated earlier. Keep in mind a good volt/ohm meter is cheaper than a coil pack !!! I have experience the coil packs on the back side failing more often for some reason.

Regarding the whine, I can't hear it near the alternator..I hear it on top of the engine near what looks like evap system, but can't seem to find any holes in the tubing. Could this all be related? I also noticed my lights are very dim, every time I rev the engine they get much brighter...so my alternator is going too?

What is your system voltage: car off, car on, lights on, a/c on?

A newbie question, how do I test the coil pack with a volt meter..I have a positive and negative on the voltmeter..and only the place where the spark comes out in the coil pack....do I just read that tip?
