I saw a sweet black Range Rover and it had HIDs. They were similar in color, but maybe a slight purple compared to a slight blue of the 2K2 HIDs. However, the Rovers' HIDs were VERY bright compared to mine.

I been wanting to adjust them higher cause I dont seem to notice a HUGE difference in having these HIDS over my standard Halogens as far as distance viewing is concerned. But then again, some people get ****ed when I am behind them and once I pass them, they start flashing my A$$ like as if my high beams are on.

So them I dont wheather I should raise them. Cause my Panasonic HID kit used to be awesome distance viewing, if anything I am kinda of disapointed in the HIDs in the 2K2. But then again it is a DOT approved HID kit.

Maybe.

I've never followed a 2K2 Maxima to tell how wide the beam pattern is, but the Range Rover put down an EXTREMELY bright beam over a lane on each side. Therefore, his HIDs lit up the road 3-lanes wide from the starting edge. People would pass him and you couldn't even see their headlights reflect on the ground. I'm wondering if these are stock or if they might be aftermarket.

Aren't they Panasonics? The same kit you had before, right?

It'll be cool to put the 2K2 HIDs up with yours and take some pics!

I dont like the 2K2 light pattern or output. I have been wanting to put the new 6000k bulbs, but I cant order them from Japan cause I cant read it on their website (Philips of Japan)

How much can you get a pair of D2S or D2R 6000k bulbs for?

What is the color temp. of the stock 2k2 hid's. The lower the 'K' the more yellow the color. 6000-6500 would be a nice yellow white light. 10,000k would be a very blue white light.

If we get the new burners, we will be more than happy with the output? It will be much better than the "stock 2K2 HIDS"?

Can I just hook the burners up to the 2K2 setup? Or will I need additional wiring? Teach me o wise one.....

Cool! So if I get the new burners from you, I can put them into my existing '02 harness and bucket and really come out a win/win...so to speak. I don't need a new balast or connectors.....thats a plus

The 02 buckets are designed for HID output(I hope), and I will just put in a superior bulb to take advantage of the HID and enjoy some HIGH light output!

Are they always on backorder? And what is the life expectancy of any burner, including these?

How's it going Colonel? Did you get them installed yet?

Hogan, Did you try new burners in the 2K2s? Do they fit? What will this do? Up the voltage? Increase the BLUE output color? I'm not sure what I would gain by swaping the burners and if it would be DRAMATIC enough to justify $165+your profit.

Please explain HID-master.

freeze00, learn your K Color scale.

6000K is crystal blue. The sun is 5200K on the K Color Scale.
Yellow is in the 2000Ks.
Yo, im just going from my aquarium experience.
Obviously water is gonna change the color, I didnt think it would be that much though.
Again, what is the color of the stock 2k2?

I doubt he's going to give them up for cost, so you better add a little to that.

Simply, brigther, and bluer, goes into a brilliant crystal blue-white phase after 2 hours of driving.

I've asked to have 5 sets reserved, no price as of yet, I'm trying to pick up a few HID kits at the same time, so I might be able to save some money to you guys.

-Peace
got any pics? how about a side by side with the piaa burner and the stock 2k2? that would be really helpful for us trying to decide if the difference is that great.

problem two....HIDs never come out right in pics, like actually being there.
problem three..I don't wanna do all that wiring again, cause I just ghetto rigged everything splicing lines to get it to work, and just tested it out.
problem four...Those 2002s stay in my room, next to fully polished 300ZX calipers, and my T04-20G from Greddy.
problem five...I hate posting pics, I just gave up on it.

Not exactly... Daylight (not sunlight) is up to and maybe past 8000K depending on the cloudcover. Sunlight is about 5000-5400K. Bright halogen lighting is about 3500K. "crystal blue" is definitely not 6000K. Daylight on a cloudy day isn't crystal blue and is past 6000K. If you have a higher end PC monitor you can change the color temperature and see what I mean. HID lights (depending on who you believe are anywhere from 4000K to 6500K. I'd tend to believe the high numbers as they seem blue-ish even compared to sunlight.

These pics remind me of my hids then and now..
The first kit i used had a bluish output like the bottom pic. the kit i have now is alot whiter and purpler like the top pic.. Although not that extreme purple it is way better than the blue one..
