Skyline GTR @ the races last night...it had a 7 course meal!

Last night @ the races in Utah a skyline GTR slaughtered everything that wanted to race it...
took out a tsi, rx7, type r (inegra) and that was basicalyl it! I love those tailights---sooo awesome looking! The guy wouldn't really show us anything about it, in a nut shell the guy was a bizatch, but none-the-less his car was a real treat! Have any of you guys seen these in person? It was kinda funny seeing him sit on the other side of the car, one thing i forgot to look @ was the pedal configuration?!? Is it right foot stil gas? All i can say is i'm saving my pennies from here on out

I think the pedal configuration of a RHD car is the same as an LHD car, the shifter is on the driver's left side though of course.

I have seen one in person. The beast was owned by my friend's cousin in Canada. It was imported from HK and was a R34 blue with tons of HKS stuff on it.

After seeing it, I told my self that I would save every penny I had and buy a car like it. I had sandwich for one whole month, but after that, the spirit died down and I am back to my norma life.

Rich lives in Maryland.. and he would show people his car he doesn't car..

if the car is in the southwest like AZ or Utah and he isn't showing anything about it.. chances are its a DOT/Nissan car that they bring here for testing.. and he has access to it..

Good luck in trying to get one of those. Heard that it was really hard to get it here from Japan. And of course the price is just a little to much.....around $90,000. They come a little bit cheaper for certain models, years, etc. but try and price one. You might be saving for quite some time. Like yourself, I have always wanted one as well. I used to live in Japan and one of my friends owned a skyline GTR. He let me drive it one day but I wrecked his car. To much power for me I guess. Luckily he was a good friend. Good luck.

Imported from HK? It retails for 700,000 HKD (100,000 USD) in HK. You can save 2-3k by buying one in motorex and ship it up to Canada. Besides, it's not street legal in Canada and won't pass AirCare in BC. What's so good having a car but can't drive it on the road whenever you feel like to? I really hate to say but this does sound like BS to me.

i saw one or at least a replica of it. For got the color of it but i was waiting behind a line of cars to make a left turn and glance over and saw this ugly huge wing on it. I looked at the tail lights and thought "Is this what I think it is?" It had a big muffler tip on it. Actually it wasn't one of those ricer tip but an after market muccler of some sort. I didn't see where the driver was but it did take off with ease but it wasn't going all that fast when it got the green. Some one had custom made skyline taillights But I'm pretty sure it was on cause it look like no other care you are used to seeing everyday. It was in an area by where i live call canyon crest. I think a lot of rich people live in this area since I have seen a Viper a few NSXs and two Ferraris in this area. Sad but that tall a$$ wing really screwed everything up.

I heard somewhere in California that make Skyline's. Maybe it's just a rumor or something but I remember someone saying that.

I would love to have a Skyline. As for the pedal configuration being different...I don't know. In the latest edition of Motor Trend they have a new Aston Martin and the wheel is on the other side and the pedals are oppisite (gas on the left, brake on the right). I don't know if that would be the same for Japanese cars.

go to www.motorex.net they have a 1992 R32 in black with 38k miles on it selling for 36,800. if you really want a Skyline, Motorex is the only way to go. as for the 40k price, you can get a brand spankin new R34 GT-R V-spec II for about 47-50k in Japan (excluding taxes etc).

Oh yeah, Motorex will also just do the legalization of Skyline also (so you can buy a Skyline in Japan, ship it over and Motorex will take care of all the paper work and modification)

1999-2000 R34 GT-R $25,000
1996-1998 R33 GT-R $25,000
1995 R33 GT-R $17,000
1990-1994 R32 GT-R $16,000

Cost does not include shipping , or bonding fees.

If you're really interested in Skylines call Motorex or head over to www.freshalloy.com where the Skyline forum is moderated by Sean Morris, an employee at Motorex.

Dude, relax!!!

I don't need to lie because I don't own it.

He owned that Skyline in HK and he migrated to B.C. All mods he has on his car were installed in HK.

All I know is that it was imported from HK and it is legal in B.C.

My friend's cousin isn't the only one in B.C who owns a Skyline. I saw a R33 once in Richmond.

He must be one of those rich hongers!

Also, what do you mean legal in BC? As in it's a collector's car or with a regular license plate. Last I heard that you cannot import a car and drive it on the road if they don't have it here.

I saw a R34 once in Richmond too, but with a washington plate.

Wow. The red tape Motorex must have to go through to justify those costs is mind blowing.

If another yard wanted to import the Skyline to the US, could they now use the compliance regulations set-up by Motorex or would they have to go through all the testing again themselves?

Something to keep in mind about those used Skylines from Motorex. The Hashishira(sp?)(street racers) in Japan are all young kids that beat the crap out of thir cars for a year or two and then trade them in. So, Motorex buys them cheap, exports them and then marks them up 300% and you get a beater. I'd save my pennies for a few more decades and buy new. Also, try and find a mechanic that has even seen a Skyline let alone knows how to work on it.
