please tell me they're not going to try and put the 4DSC logo back on the maxima, ugh. Seems like sacrilege to call this bloated pig a 4DSC.....

Put it on the Alti SE-R, if anything......

If this car ends up weighing over 3500lbs and they put that sticker on it, I will **** ON IT the first time I see one in a parking lot.

It will be over 3500lbs. We can only hope it will also have a 400hp VK and have a 6 speed MANUAL tranny driving the rear wheels.

Also that those are the rear rotors

I can also hope that I have a threesome with Heidi Klum, Elle MacPhereson, and Naomi Campbell, which is probably more likely than what you posted

I think it will be more like a 300-hp transverse-mounted VQ37 (?) with a CVT. And, of course, no LSD.

they blacked them out so you couldn't see that the brakes are just normal old single-piston tricks.

see photo of the spy shot - road test vehicles would certainly be using the same brakes as the production version, since they need to road test the production brakes...

Yup! Look like Potenza RE40s to me! You guys thought Potenza RE92s were bad on 5th gens. Try RE40s on a RWD car. Needless to say, that was my very first mod for the Z.

I'm desperately looking at evidence of AWD: judging by the lack of kicked up snow on the rear of the car, I'm going to say that the car is still FWD, seeing as how there's a bunch of it on the door. =(

I don't know all the details of the car but if it has independent rear suspension, variable camshaft/valvetrain timing, a variable intake and other goodies I'd like to drive one. All cars are getting heavier, to complain about just one car is ridiculous.

I'm glad Nissan going back to the 4DSC marketing, I thought it was clever, fun, and really portrayed what the car was. Back when they first introduced the Maxima it was levels above the competition (namely the Accord and Camry). The 3rd gen had a lot more room inside, was laid out better, and the power, handling, and technology of the car was miles ahead.

Everyone always seems to complain when a new model comes out. 4th gen is bubbly, 5th gen even more so, 6th gen is a boat, blah blah blah. If you really want to complain about it I recommend driving a 3rd generation Maxima, then driving a 5th gen. Realize the same complaints you have were expressed 8 years ago, and they are not exclusive to the Maxima. Cars are growing bigger and more powerful, they are getting heavier and they are becoming safer.

Gone is right as usual. Most vehicles gradually grow larger, heavier and more powerful over time.

Having owned several early generation Maximas, as much as I loved them, I yearned for more room inside. Gradually, each generation has given us a tad more room. I feel the room in my 5th and 6th generation Maximas is just about right.

Those wanting RWD need to dig deeper into their pockets and slide over to Infiniti. Those longing to return to the 'under 3500 pound and smaller' vehicle need to test-drive smaller vehicles such as the top-rated 3.5 Altima, or the (gulp!) Accord or (ouch!) Camry.

If all the wishes of all the posters here were to be granted, the new Maxima would be a strange and convoluted concoction costing over $100,000 and would please nobody. Call me Pollyanna, but I am very excited about the 7th generation Maxima.

irish..you're never going to be happy with the maxima no matter what nissan does to it.

the ones that are complaining about the FWD...you're on maxima.org...the maxima has ALWAYS been FWD since the 2nd gen. if you want a RWD sports sedan then a maxima is not it. you might be happier in a G35 or M35 with a higher price.

it's like complaining to honda that they won't slap a turbo charged V6 awd in their civics. it's just not marketed or built that way.

The Teaser pics say 3-19, just realized that is Wednesday I can only hope that Nissan did something to bring back the 4DSC, that edge they use to have

I'd be more than happy with AWD. I know RWD will never happen.
