Trunk will not open

I did a trunk swap on my 95 to a 97-99 about a month ago. I changed the latch on the trunk from my 95 trunk to make it fit. Today my trunk wouldnt open. I can hear it clicking, but not opening. I need to get in there! how can I open it?

take out the rear seat then the pannel in the way it's like a couple screws then find the latch or wire what ever is eposed and open it from there.

or if you know for sure that it is un latching then just pull it hard and see if it doesnt open other wise just take out the back seat like I said.

the bottom of the back seat has 2 hooks you need to pull to un latch the coushon

good luck

i will try with taking the rear seats out. i still hear it clicking, so i know the motor, or even a fuse is still intacked. it just wouldnt unlatch.

the bottom bracket is misaligned. the smallest amount will prevent the trunk from opening.

Did you accidentally lock the trunk out? There's a lock on the latch that could be engaged.

This happened to me last week. All I did was put my fingers in the bottom of where the trunk connects to my car. I wiggled my fingers a bit and had to push a loose switch up into place.

Hope it helps

Mine wouldn't close yesterday. Should we blame trunk monkeys?
I normally have to push the button once, pull up, then push again to open mine since the dynamat weighs it down and causes it to stick.

I had a similar problem, didn't feel like removing rear seats. Took a skinny plastic proom and with the end plastic tip wiggled the latch through the arm rest hole. Usually our cars have a mandatory manual release in the trunk right? I hit that latch and pulled up on the trunk..and it opened
