what do you guys suggest for my 98 maxima gle. i want to drop it on progress and change by struts and shocks to either the blues or illuminas. i want better handling but id also like my ride to be not too stiff so that i dont feel all the road bumps of my crappy toronto city roads lol.
thx,
chris

Blues give you a little bit better than stock ride but lowering in the long run Illuminas are the way to go. Plus illuminas are adjustable. So you can have it on 1 and ride like a lincoln towncar or 5 and be sporty and stiff. When I lowered my car I said if Im going to do it, do it right. I have tokico springs and tokico illuminas though. Love the ride.

im thinking progress springs as i want a lower drop as it gives me a 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear and i have a subin the rear so the 1.5 should be perfect . the only down side is that i hear the illuminas unlike the agx are hard to adjust ? because u have to rip the carpet or something, is this true?

Illuminas are easier than the AGX's, to me. Yeah, the adjustment screw is on the top but people act like they cant move the liner out of the way in the trunk and adjust them and move it back. To adjust the AGX's its alittle hard to get to the dial. Its less work than people are making it out to be.

Illuminas are much softer than AGX's. Althought it is a good choice for low spring drops and decent ride quality in terms of comfortability. Tokico Blues are more of an OE replacement not really meant for low drops.

Well from my personal experience...AGX are slightly firmer than the Illuminas. The Illuminas are adjusted @ the top of both F/R struts, and the rear trunk trim (2 snap buttons) will need to be moved to access rear strut tops! Now for the AGX the fronts are adjusted @ the strut top, but the rears are adjusted under the car, on the strut there's an 8 way adjustable ****! If your ride is really low you may not fit under the car! If you plan on going somewhere nice or staying clean Illuminas might be you choice! If you don't mind crawling under you car anytime, anywhere then AGX's might be your choice!

AGX's are firmer forgot to add that. In the cold some people complain of them getting even firmer or too stiff but it depends on where you live in the U.S. I considered the AGX's before the illuminas but after riding in a car with illuminas I liked those better. I think the AGX's would be better for track use though.
