Noise after spacer install

Ok, I installed the NWP phenolic intake manifold spacers today. Everything went smoothly, and everything fit. However, I hear a hissing noise that wasn't there before. I hear this noise when I'm in gear, on the throttle starting at about 2.5k on up to I'm not sure what rpm. I'm not sure if I have an intake leak somewhere. Me and my partner checked, re-checked, and triple checked that all the hoses were connected and all electrical connectors were connected, and everything was bolted where it was... except of course that little canister under the engine cover that ran 2 hoses to the VIAS plate. That's no longer there because I installed the block plate. There are some hose connections under there that I left bare with no hoses over them. Would that be it? I'm not sure where else the problem would be. Would an incorrectly torqued bolt create a hissing noise, or what else could it be? Thanx
-Chris

The spacers make aftermarket intake "hissle" sound appear on cars that didn't previously have it, it's completely normal and I believe Aaron now his info about this posted up on his site as well.

Gotdamnit, I wish I would have known that before I bought the freakin things. I'm very particular about strange noises in my car. Maybe its my fault for not doing more research, but I thought I did enough, and I definitely did not come across that info before.

Are we talking about a CAI hiss or a whistle?? Did you do the SSImM as well or just gut out the VIAS?

it's not a CAI hiss.. i've have a stillen intake for a while now, and it hasnt made that noise.. i just did the spacers, block plate, and headers (which are also making some kind of hiss)

i guess its kinda starting to grow on me now.. i was driving home today from the NWP meet, and i'm starting to be ok with the noise

it is normal... vq engines whistle. I only have a short ram intake and removed the butterfly valve inside the IM and my intake whistles. You will notice it more on colder days when your intake gets louder due to the denser air.

if you do think it's an air leak....take an automotive stethoscope, remove the feeler rod and just listen thru the hose! Can you feel any power/torque difference with your butt dyno?

so you think it's from the butterfly valve being removed? if that's the case, then it's the block plate that i put on causing the noise, not the spacers

see, i don't know.. cause i put headers on a couple days before that, and i still havent gotten used to that power to say its any more or less with the spacers

Can you feel the power difference with both installed mods(Headers and spacers) over your previous setup? Would you say your flow/torque increase is very noticeable?
