Couple Things Wrong With the car!!

So i just got the car back from the deal for those lights that kept on coming on the dash(abs, brake, slip, vdc). They want 4000$$ to do the repairs.

-Rear Hubs
-Abs Acuator
-Rear Speed Wheel Sensor
-Evap VMNT Valve and Canister

Does anyone have a website on which i can buy these parts from?everything but the abs acuator.

And what is the evap vmnt?is the speed sensor the abs sensor on the back of the hub?

How about you try searching? There are numerous vendors that give us good deals on parts, takes about 2 seconds of work to find them.

Was your car in an accident or something?

Ya, I viewed the thread but I have no idea where you could get these parts without getting raped by the dealer.

junk yard and do it yourself. if that is not the route you want to take get a free inspection and quote from Midas or a brake shop they won't rob you.

Maybe some uneven wear marks possibly. I thought my front right hub was out but it was just a bad alignment. Like the previous post said, go to independent shop. They have ways of checking your hubs.

$4000??!!! Heeelllll NO! Don't go to the dealership to have that stuff done. All of those repairs are pretty much basic stuff and could be done for ALOT less at a regular shop.

Let me give you an example. Dealership charges about $600 to replace a bad axle on my car. Called up Goodyear Road and Service up the street and it was $279 installed!(using a after market brand new axle). 6 months and no problems yet.

Lol so I was wondering what an evap VMNT Valve was and realized it was a typo you are talking about an Evap Vent Valve and Canister. I will see if I can find these items on your grocery list for cheaper. give me a bit.

here are the hubs: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...5&model=Maxima $120 each. here is the ABS Actuator/Modulator: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...04&catalogid=1 $1050. here are the rear speed sensors: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...04&catalogid=1 $163 each. here is the EVAP Canister: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...04&catalogid=1 $155. Total if doing both sides of the rear end. $1771 in parts. Installation is cake. DIY. If not take it to MIDAS they would probably charge around $200 in labor for the hubs and speed sensors. ABS modulator and EVAP Canister not sure.

Yeah.... goodluck with that one....

What were the codes you had stored, did the dealer mention them on the repair order? Thats kinda insane, whats the story on the RO about why you need all this stuff?

here is a company that has cheaper prices for everything on your list except the ABS Modulator. I would be careful of shipping prices from any company also. http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/mak,NI...55BVQ35DE%255D

so about $1000 in parts including shipping if you do it right. No way installation would cost more than $500. If someone quotes you more than that tell them to pack sand. Good luck and keep us posted.

Fastest way to find out is to contact a Nissan Dealership Service department and ask them for the Part number for the 04 Actuator using your VIN number!!!

Also try www.car-parts.com

Last, ensure the acutuator is the same as your current setup because I think the actuators may be different for a MT verse and AT and a vehicle equiped With or W/O TRAC CNTRL SYSTEM; With or W/O VDC!!!

good idea, allways ask if unsure. I think it will be the right one. As for the speed sensor and abs sensor I will have to check.

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...04&catalogid=1 yes the speed sensor is the abs sensor. Never hurts to ask that either.
