What do you think of warpspeed's ypipe good or bad?

Well, i am in search of a 5.5 gen cattman ypipe and i know it will be very difficult to find. i been wanting to get a ypipe for my i35 for some time now. i know warpspeed makes ypipe for the 5.5 gen maxima so are they any good compared to cattman. i know and read that cattman ypipes are very good and cattman makes good quality products. i know that the warpspeed cost less than cattman but what is so special about warpspeed. thanks

Another Y pipe thread, sweet... If you can find a used cattman, great, but the warpspeed is not as nice, but it is cheaper and should get the job done.

the only thing special about the warpspeed is the price. The cattman is better build quality but they both get the same job done. I probably would have bought the cattman y but i am a poor student so i have the warpspeed y and a cattman muffler, both do their job well one just looks better than the other

I had the Warpspeed y-pipe for a while before going with headers. It fit really well and held together for the year I had it. It was in great shape when I took it off and sold it but I do live in a warm climate with no rust issues. My Warpspeed B-pipe cracked at the bends after about 3 years and had to be replaced. Not a speck of rust, it just started cracking in a big way.

If you plan on doing more with the car I'd hold out for the headers. You get a lot more power. If you decide to get headers later you have to remove the y-pipe and try to sell it. The new OBX headers look promising if you can't stretch for the Cattmans. If I had to do it over I'd forget the y-pipe and go straight to the headers.

on both points.

If you're worried about install costs, see if some local Orgers can either hook you up with a discounted install or just give you a hand (or several hands). It'll be a good experience.

my warpspeed y pipe did pretty well even in the rust belt. it started to look kinda rusty after a few years but not too bad imo. i took it off and replaced it with a set of slightly modded hotshots. i didnt notice a huge difference, but im a 3.0.

i ran around really slammed for a while and caught the flex section on a lot of things and really tore it up, but it still held together, so id say theyre a pretty good product. i was beign stupid and it just took the abuse.

im int he market again for a y-pipe for my 95 and i have no problems with puting a warpspeed on it, but to me whatever i can find for a good price will be what ultimatly goes on the car.

What exactly is wrong with WarpSpeed anyways? I have one on for quite awhile and it's absolutely fine.

There's nothing wrong with it. The Y-pipe on a 3.5 car doesn't add much power like on a 3.0 car. On the 3.5 car the restriction is in the manifolds and precats which aren't removed by the Y-pipe.

I'm just curious which one is the "best"? I've never tried any other brand except WarpSpeed, so I don't know much. But as far as I can tell, my WarpSpeed was fitted correctly and still in one piece. Only thing I have to say is that it isn't equal length, but so is Cattman (unless you get the header+y-pipe combo IIRC). For $200 shipped to your door, I would say they are the best.
