Car won't start, i need some help
i have a 96' with a de-k in it and for some reason when i turn the key nothing happens, it doesn't turn over. When i checked the wire going to the started with my test light, it's not even getting power when i turn the key.
.
.
This buzzing sound? Is it coming from under the dash? Sounds like what I had... I just cleaned my battery terminals w/ some coke and my car starts up now, but I'm going to do some real work on the terminals tomorrow afternoon, to ensure that this problem never happens to me again.
There is a lot of information missing here.
When did it start not cranking? Since you put the DE-K in? Just recently?
Did you do anything to the car immediately prior to this, did you have anything done, or did anything happen?
Since you didn't give any details, are we to assume that you're still an automatic? Have you tried starting it in every gear range, not just Park or Neutral?
Which wire did you check? The signal wire that's got a connector on it, or the B+ feed that bolts on to the solenoid?
What exactly is buzzing? Have you checked all the connections to the starter and at the battery, making sure they're all tight and making good contact (corrosion free)?

the buzzing sounds like its under the hood but when listening from the outside it sounds like its in the car....... and PMOHR its still the same car i was PMing you about but i decided to make a thread because i haven't gotten a response, it turned over last week when i cleaned the terminals but now the B+ wire that goes to the starter is dead (not getting any power to it) and the car isn't auto anymore

So the B+ feed to the starter isn't getting power? Have you followed it back to the battery? It's a very short run, it shouldn't be dead.
Have you bypassed the clutch interlock relay to see if it'll start? Jumped the starter manually?
If it's not turning over quickly, and you've already verified that the battery is in good shape, then have you checked what sort of voltage you're seeing at the starter itself? Corroded or loose connection?
We should make a sticky with all starting problem scenarios and offer solutions right on that thread for each scenario haha
But by buzzing do you mean like a ticking sound or clicking sound? Because if there is a sound then I think your battery is just really low. I hope, hahah

What voltage should I be seeing at the starter and when should I see it? I see battery voltage when key is in ON posiion and then a 5-7v drop when I try to start the car...
I found it took both a new starter and starter relay to resolve my starting problems. It is common to have intermittant relay problems so it is hard to test for... I wasted a lot of time and should have just replaced both parts to begin with.
