groaning noise when steering at slow speed
groaning noise when steering at slow speed
I tried to search and found another thread in 5th gen forum but nothing on this one.
To make a long story short, my engine recently hydrolocked because of a faulty fuel injector, it was basically just pouring fuel into #5 cylinder.
I pulled the plugs and turned the engine over to pump out the fuel, and I had to change a bad camshaft position sensor, and it runs good for about 2 weeks. Did 2 oil changes as well.
Now I have developed the low groan while turning. Also I notice the groan when I tap the throttle very lightly, to simulate the rise in rpms when the engine powers the steering while turning (800 rpm or so) and the same groan hits at about 750 rpms...so it makes me wonder if it's my engine
Any ideas here? The steering fluid is still full, there hasn't been any drop in it the fluid level. And It's not a matter of lubricating anything obviously because it groans even if I don't turn the steering wheel.

ok..you will have to put a person to turn the wheels while you check for the sound in the engine. A good tip
, took a hose and put it in your ear and with the other end look for the groan sound..check: power steering pump,belts.....start with that and let me know.
