GD: 5th Gen 3" Dual Tip Muffler Cat-Back System

Hey everyone,

We understand that a lot of members are interested in a 3" Catback System with a Dual tipped Muffler.

We are estimating that we can design and sell this system to the members for only $425 shipped!

We want to get an idea of how much demand there is for this product because it will require a substantial investment to develop.

Please post and confirm your interest in this system and we will put you on the list for the group buy. We estimate that this system will be ready to sell after all the developing and testing in about 1.5-2 months.

Interested for a b-pipe or even the full system, assuming this is mandrel bent, and stainless steel construction.

Please make full use of the ample room left by the factory muffler and use a larger aftermarket muffler, nobody likes drone . (Cattman, HKS, Megan only use like 60% of the room available)

I am interested in this catback system as well and please please please do not make the dual tips all big and goofy looking, make them look nice and classy like the cattman setup but still have that really agressive sound im not telling you to copy cattmans style but 1 or 2 ideas wont hurt lol.

I need this for maxus fellas lets make this quick lol.

Yes, we are looking at using a muffler similar to the cattman dual tip muffler except it will be 3" and good quality, but at a more affordable price.

Also, If anyone can provide a good image of a 5th gen's under carriage that would be very useful and will speed up the process. We want to make sure the kit fits 100% perfectly. It is trickier to make the room with 3" piping. hah.

I'm interested if it's mandrel bent, ss and has a resonator and a big stock style muffler.

Can we get a exact date on when you should have these in stock, cause if it's going to be long then i'll just build an exhaust since I have a mandrel bender local to me?

He is just gauging interest how the hell could he give you an exact date for release???

Anyways, I am interested for sure that price sounds decent. I want 3" but cattman I just cant justify $700.... I am installing megan catback as soon as they fill the back order (should be this month if Im lucky) so I will take pics from underneath with exhaust removed and then with new one installed. Hopefully that will help you out. custommaxima is there any specific area you need pics of?

nzelinsky: thanks for the help. hopefully we will have some pics by then, but we're looking for good pics of the turns and bends of the exhaust system. We want to make sure we design it where 3" piping will clear all corners and what not. We also need some good pics of the under carriage in total from the cat back to the bumper. Thanks!

I'm not sure what muffler you plan on using, but you should check out some from Borla. They have the perfect sound. Aggressive on acceleration but quiet on the highway with a nice growl at idle.

Im all in on this design depending on pics, the major selling points for me would be what the muffler looks like... if its some kinda megan racing or cattman type of look then consider your first on sold... I can tell you now, if you do plan on doing this design, i already have about 3-7 maxima's that will probebly be in on this... im interested if it's either a 2.5" design or better yet a 3"

Awesome! It seems like there is a lot of interests. We will get this initiated and will start to take pre-orders once we get the price and design finalized.

Should really find a local owner and test fit a car then give them a discounted price for being the first - thats the best way IMO so you know its perfect.

Im sold based on what the muffler looks like... any production pics of what they look like (even a dummy pic will do) why not get somebody from your home state to donate a car for the development of these catbacks just to make sure fitment is perfect? just a suggesion... i know with the 3" setup its not much room for error, oh and seeing as though its all suggesions now... any idea on how long of a resonator you will be using??? not only do we hate droning but we also hate unwanted volume lol a 22-26" resonator should be more than enough

i understand that testing would be best because you can back your product that way, but isnt the 3" catbacks (whether custom or cattman) proven significant gains, im in for the prototype... even before dyno testin lol

oh do i get a discount for gettn all these NC n MD **** on lls jk

EDIT: not to be whoring up your thread but is it also majority vote on if the catback has that glossy look like the ones made for the 4th gen and 5th gen??? Im not really feeling the glossy look like that, i prefer (and idk if most will agree) the solid flat metal look, that lil glossy look is un appealing to me for some reason (brings off that "not so strong metal look"), but i guess for 1/2 the price i cant get too much huh
