Oh the joys of overseas manufacturing. You send out a design to China and no idea as to when the stuff will be shipping to the USA. When it arrives the part is usually wrong and has to be re-done. This is my theory as to why CM has an existing design for the 2.5" catback and can't simply change it to 3", there is usually a serious disconnect between the designer in the USA and the builder overseas.

At the company I work at we were out sourcing our machined parts all over the world and got sick of the mistakes, delays, poor communications, customs, and other BS. The owner sucked it up and built a top of the line CNC equipped machine shop on site. We can make design changes with a phone call or an email to the mechanical engineers and get a new part in a day or two if need be. The shop has paid for itself at this point with the time and money we have saved by doing everything in house.

For those that need a 3" catback made just get it done locally if you can or suck it up and buy the Cattman one. That or be patient and wait for CM to get a good batch of 3" catbacks in at cheaper prices. From my experience I would expect a 6 to 12 month lead time on something like this.

Quality parts, Fast service, Cheap prices - You can only have two.

I don't mind getting a 3" done locally, my only problem is where do I get a muffler similar to cattman???

Wasn't Cattman selling the resonators for his exhausts?

3" resonator and muffler can be had from so many exhaust suppliers. I've liked my Remus muffler with my Magnoflow resonator. Wished I had built a 3" exhaust from the get go instead of a 2.5".

There is a Walker Turbo muffler that is supposed to be really good and has a dual tip similar to cattman.

I had a custom 3" priced out at a local exhaust shop and I was looking at $800 all in... seems a little pricey and that is crimp bend not mandrel. If these guys dont have something soon Im going to buy a cattman even if it breaks the bank.

Damn all the time been waiting on this already cleared my credit card and hit up Cattman for his 3in. Lucky #7 only needs 3 more for production to start rolling so if you got the cash give him a call!!

Same exact scenario here brother. this guy = #8. 2 more orders needed.

I held on way too long for this custommaxima exhaust. You can't keep telling people 1-2 more weeks over a 9 month time period. This looks very bad on you as a seller, and I don't believe I can put trust into buying any of your products in the future.

This is a sad look into the future of the "import automotive tuning" business. Look into the business operations of these companies and its just a guy or two in a warehouse slinging copy cat cheaply made Chinese parts to people over the internet.

It is not worth the time and money to R&D new parts and put them on the market as someone will just copy them and sell cheaper versions of it. So the companies that stick their necks out and do the design work get shafted while the copy cats profit. A good example is the people asking for a cheap copy of the Cattman headers.

In the Maxima world if Cattman goes out of business there will no longer be a decent maker of parts for the older Maximas. To my knowledge he is the only major company still putting up with the BS and making decent parts for the 4th/5th gens that are readily available.

Years ago I had a business plan laid out and ideas for new Maxima performance parts and was even talking to Matt about buying Blehmco. Thought about it and talked to some people in this business and came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth it. The only money is in the high end cars, not Maximas.

I'm glad this is happening. Brian engineered and fabbed up a wonderful product and I think it's awfully sh1tty for someone to wait until he perfects it only to copy it and sell it. He is a knowledeable and very nice guy (you would know if you've ever spoken to him on the phone) and he doesnt deserve to be put out of business by some Chinese replica crap.

I love my Cattman 3", just save your money buy a quality product.
