While trying to trace the issues of why the amp in the back trunk is not working I came accross these connectors not hooked up anyone know what they go too? Also one of the connectors in the 6 disc cd player is not hooked up? Anyone know how the amp in the trunk hooks up too?

Is the sub factory or aftermarket?

Those plugs could very well be for accessories. I've found them often on all types of cars. They could be there to connect a nav system, a satellite radio system, or something of that sort.

If you don't have the factory BOSE system, that's your answer.

The other 2 are too short to go behind the radio, I tried to connect them and no dice. And yes I didn't have the Bose System, but I still had a amp in the trunk , I am assuming the amp will make the sound louder?

That's interesting. I'm new to the Maxima and I'm not familiar with the different sound packages. Are you sure the amp is factory and not installed by someone else?

Does anyone know of a electrical chart that will maybe show what these connectors in the console might be for? Or how I can trace the amp in the rear?

The brown one is for the shift plate like Cory said, the white one is for the hazard light button.

The small brown plug would be the shift gate light which you wouldn't have...

Look under the dash on the drivers side, chances are you'll notice another plug or two.

those two other plugs are for elite packages. the first connector is as you know already for the shift light. like mentioned already the wiring harness for the car is identical in every model. certain connectors are used depending on options for car.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought that Nissan would leave in the connectors even if certain options where not used. Question what was the elite package? NAVI?

So that leaves me to my stock amp in the back that is does not say Bose, harness is there but no dice, also PO put in 6 x 9 Pioneers, I would like to get these to sound

If the radio works then leave those cables where they are.they won get mad if you dont hook them up.as long as the radio works dont worry bout the other plig tha u're missing.I went aftermarket couple of mnths ago and i remember my stock bose radio didnt have a plug down there neither.when you hooked up the stock radio,or when ter prvious owner hooked up the aftermarket one, theres a possibility to bur the fuse.Check the fuses under the drivers side.if everything is ok there then go in the trunk.take off the top carpet that covers the rear deck. You will find the bose stock amp there in he middle and 2 bose subs(this is only if u have a bose package).check the wiring on ur amp and the subs.
Now one advice if u care to listen. If the only reason u went back to stock was just because u wanted to get the steering controls back, then u made a mistake because u can reuse those buttons with the aftermarket radio.u just have to buy the kit for tha certain pioneer u had there.
I myself had 2 amps hooked up to the stock bose radio and i was bumping 2 JL 13w7's.yes it was loud, but it can never be louder than an aftermarket radio. Why?because the stock radio sends only .80volts of RCA signal, and a good aftermarket one goes up to 5 volts, sometimes 8volts.The stronger the signal, the stiffer, sturdier, stronger, cleaner, beafier bass you'll have.Good luck

Damn it you just made me rethink the whole thing lol ...Yeah the reason why I went back to stock was because of the buttons on the steering wheel...That pioneer model was a cheap model anyways the stock 6 cd player makes up for it...But I would just like to get the amp in back working to see how the sound is .. will post some pics as I am going to tear into it

Ok checked fuses they are all fine, the amp in rear gets hot so i know its got juice. I just hooked up the wires to the 6 x 9 , still nothing. Here's some pics

Do you guy think the 6 x 9's require too much power? I am assuming that the amp is the rear is for the rear speakers only correct? meaning the 6 x 9's?

The pioneer speakers are 4ohm speakers. the output of the amp is 1/2 ohm. You might hear something if you blast it to the max. Even then would be weak. Get a new amp and replace the bose one.
