Where to crossreference ECU's that match my VIN?
Where to crossreference ECU's that match my VIN?
My mechanic thinks my ECU has gone bad, as he has gone through replacing plugs and coils without resolving my intermittent hesitation in accelleration or occasional engine going dead.
It's a 1996 Maxima SE, auto, federal, VIN JN1CA21DXTT712710. The ECU in it has had moisture on it's top label where it isn't legible for an easy match. I can get the Nissan part number for the ECU that matches my VIN, but that doesn't help me match a used ECU and the information you can read from labels on a used one.
It's likely to begin with A18, and I wonder if there is only a unique set of numbers on the ECU that will match, or will several numbers match my vehicle.
Any help would be appreciated,
Charles

go to www.car-part.com and match your specs. should be about 100bucks or less.
You will need an 96 Auto SE/GLE/GXE ecu with power seats.
