ddm tuning hid kit install issues

So i got a hid kit from ddm tuning (i know i know kill me now but my retrofit will be soon.) When going to install, i had the ballasts fully connected ready to plug in

Now this little blue piece

Is supposed to connect to this little black piece correct?

Anyways when trying to set it up it did not connect properly, it was very loose with the connection, it didn't just snap in, and when trying to plug it in, lights did not work. Am i doing something wrong here, i installed hids on my 06 altima just fine and don't remember having this issue, this is the 9004 kit from ddm, am i missing something?

Yes, connects to one of the factory connectors. I only have one connector, same blue one, that connects to one factory connector and the other factory connector doesnt connect to anything. You'll figure it out, not a million wiring options for headlights

Maybe that blue plug is wired as a 9007 connector?

Maybe the tab on the black connection is opened up too much, which wont allow it to lock with blue connection. Had the same problem, ended up just taping it to secure it.

but even when connecting it just to test it out to make sure the bulb lights it didn't work? and i don't think it'd be 9007 since i put in a 9004 bulb from auto zone a month ago

try taking the connectors out of the blue thing so you can interchange them inside the factory connector. might have it switched up. 3 wires right?

Back when I had the same kit from ddm I had to switch the positions of the wires for the lights to work. And the blue connecter never fit properly so I just electrical taped that b**ch

ok well you most likely have the wiring wrong. take them out of the blue connector by compressing the tab on the metal with a pair of pliers and have everything else hooked up and find a combination that works. My guess is going to be the 2nd and 3rd female ends on the factory connector. Wrap it in electrical tape when your done to keep water out as well, especially if its loose

inside of the blue connector there are 2 metal prongs, so 2 wires to the blue plug, and in the black connector for the harness it has 3 slots for 3 prongs, sound familiar? and it is a low beam only kit

Yup, low beam only.

On the blue connector, make sure the red wire is in the middle slot and the black one is in the slot on the right. If not, you'll have to switch them around. Search YouTube for how to re-pin a 9004 harness.

Problem solved, switched the red and black connectors in the blue plug like Chris said and voila, working like a charm

Good that you figured it out, you should of spent the extra $20 for the hi/lo kit. Waiting for mine to come in from DDM, hopefully no problems.

If it's a halogen "high" beam sort of hi/lo kit, it's not worth the extra $20.

and I used this

obviously we use the one on the left. also make sure the prongs in the socket are straight so they slide in.

yeah those things are retarded. the "high" beam is half as dull as my low beam.

Easy fix! but you should've spent your $$$ on a Bi-Xenon setup....glareshields with xenon hi beams and xenon low beams....and just right for a halogen housing! Reduced glare and a true visible hi beam system!
