Spilled 1 Gallon of Oil in my Car!

Urgh....whole gallon of (clean) Mobil1 in my rear drivers side footwell.

Can somebody with professional experience advise me the BEST way to clean-up
this mess??

I've already soaked-up most of the oil on the SURFACE of the carpet, but pretty sure I'm going to have to remove the seats and trim to get UNDER the carpet.

I don't want to have to replace the carpet -- but can it be resurrected????

Please let me know, while I KICK myself repeatedly for messing-up my PRISTINE 10 year old carpet. FAHK!!!!

Use a diluted degreaser that's safe for fabrics. There are several on the market. Spray in good and use a carpet brush to agitate the carpet. Scrub in alternating directions. Spray hot/warm water, then suck up with a good wet vac. You'll probably have to repeat a few times. When your carpet starts to come out clean (empty wet vac after each extraction to keep an eye on the dirty water) use a spray bottle with hot/warm water and soak the area, then wet vac.

Do as stated above, But also go ahead and invest in a Bissell Little Green with heater built in. This will work wonders and also help keep the interior clean every detail. You can find them at wal mart or Target or wherever you shop normally.
