Do 5.5 Gens Fit 15" Rims ? or do you guys have to shave the calipers for them to fit ?

and is it a direct fit if a 5.5gen maxima wants to upgrade to a 6th gen Calipers and rotors ?

I've never seen a 5th gen with 15's. Why do you want that size wheel?

Ugh. Unfortunately yes. I just bought a silver 5th gen a few weeks ago, fantastic deal, but it came with 15" buick rims. Looks terrible. The previous owner had purchased some nice 18" rims and sold the OEM ones, then took the 18" ones over to her new car so I was stuck with whatever she could muster up I guess.

Well 5th gens rotors and clearance are smaller than 5.5 gens, never seen a 5.5 gen with 15's either.

5.5 gen need to grind the calipers to fit 15s. I have heard it's not too much though.

I had to grind the brakes on my car to fit 16s.

What drag radials are you running? It takes ALOT to get ET Streets to break loose if they're heated up properly.

nitto 555r's

now i know MT's are MUCH better

but even with the 555r's it broke loose on stock motor and half the shot of nitrous

ill be making 150-200 more whp now and i doubt just switching to mt's will do the trick :/

You want to go taller? That will throw off your gearing. The 26's are pretty close to stock tire height.

No you'll have to downgrade to 2000-01 front brakes calipers and torque (11" rotors) members...the 16" rims barely fit over 11.75" stock 02-03 brakes....GL

Wouldn't hurt to try. What gears is he running in his car?

You can run 15" rims on the 5.5 gen. It was said earlier in the thread, but you have to shave down the calipers a little. I test fit a set of i30t 15" rims on my car to use so I could run slicks. There should be some more specific answers if you search. It will not work with 6th gen brakes.
