Bose sub amp fix 2002-2003 5.5 gen
Hey guys, I was doing some looking around and it seems the bose sub amp is shared with several different vehicles- and they all have the bose sub cut out issue. Now, that being said I don't take credit for this at all, but it might help those searching for it.
I pulled this info by seaching for the bose amp PN which is 255490. This came off my 2003 6MT maxima with the 6CD bose POS system.
I'm going to get the part and install it tonight and report back. I hope this resolves my bose sub cut out issue!

Sup guys, I just got my 05 fx35 with the dreaded Bose system. While checking out the subs in the trunk area I noticed it was cutting in and out.
So I opened it up and behold its the same amp they used in my previous Mazda RX8. Well we had a fix and all it requires is a larger $2 Panasonic relay.
Items needed:
Your stock amp
Soldering iron
Rosin Core Solder
Solder sucker, wick, or pump
Digikey Panasonic JS1-12V-F Relay
Instructions:
Remove your stock amp, becareful with the white connector. It is a little difficult to remove.
Pry open the metal housing and remove the circuit board from the housing. The main board is held by one tab each side.
Locate and remove the old grey relay.
Exam your work, While the area is exposed, you will see 5 empty holes where the old relay was and 5 filled holes right next to it. We will be using the new filled holes. With your wick remove the solder that fills those new holes.
Solder on the new relay. If you care to, apply a very thin coat of rubber cement to the joints to protect from moisture.
Put everything back and enjoy the mediocre subs again.

I did that too, I even re soldered the connections on the relay but that didn't help my issue. This is seeming to be a permanent fix. It hasn't cut out yet since the new relay
