Prestige APS997C Remote Install PANIC ALARM

Hello Maxima Enthusiast!

This is my first post, I have searched up and down for this solution and can not find anything. Hope someone here can help me.

I bought my 2011 Maxima new from the dealer and I had negotiated a remote start/alarm system to be put in it. They handed the install over to a 3rd party who was S&S Auto here in Chicago.

It was fine for the first 1.5 years until I had to take it back to S&S Auto since it was sometimes starting right up and sometimes it would try to but not turn over.. S&S Auto, after looking at the car, told me that they needed to redo the install now because there was a new method to install the remote start that acts like your key. What I had before, was somehow going around the security system (I have no idea how).

Anyway I got my car back, and noticed that sometimes my remote start works like a charm and sometimes it doesn't do anything but then the panic alarm (horn) starts to sound after 30 seconds after trying to remote start. The remote start is Audiovox Prestige APS997C. Any ideas what could be the issue here? I am taking the car back again yet another time, but I really don't have any confidence in these guys who are doing the install. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or know what I should tell the guys at the shop. The only thing I can think of is bad ground or bad connection somewhere as what else could explain something working sometimes and not others??

What module did they use. Mine used the idatalink and it works great. Make sure they are soldering the connections instead of using twist and tape, it may have just come undone over time.
