96 maxima water pump broken bolts/ what to do.

I have been trying to change the water pump in my father's car for the past 1.5 weeks. Road block after road block. Whilst trying to remove the water pump, I foolishly broke two of the bolts out. One of the ears broke off as well. Finally, I was able to remove the water pump by prying. One of the bolts (top one) broke flush and the other one (left bottom) is sticking out about a quarter inch. I have tried everything I could just to fail at removing that one. I don't even know where to start with the other. In big trouble with this. Here are my questions:
Is there any way that one bolt can hold the water pump in place? One bolt for holding it in while the broken bolt that sticks out can be extra support to keep it from rotating any.
If i get (somehow) the protruding quarter inch broken bolt out, can two bolts hold and support the water pump?
Any other ideas could help.

The pump needs all it's hold down points torqued correctly so it doesn't leak.
You must get the broken bolts out, either drill or ez out. Either way, they must come out and new bolts put in.

I have tried to use easy outs but they just can't drill into the bolt enough. Is there a way to get the housing to the water pump ie the cylindrical hole the pump goes into, out of the car? I noticed there are a few bolts around it. Do those bolts hold it in?
I bought a 90 degree drill attachment just for this purpose. I just can't use drill bits in it unless they are quick release and small enough.

well the water pump mounts to the inner timing cover behind the outer one witch you are looking at to remove both of those covers is a pain to do with the engine in the car. I would try to make a little nick in the bolts and then try to tap it out with a flat head and a hammer. that has worked for me with other things.

Thank you for your help. That may work for the protruding bolt but the upper bolt can not even be seen, so I don't know if that will be possible for that. I will certainly try though. Thank you.

+1 for attempting to deal with the upper bolt. As far as the lower bolt that is broken flush its a little more tricky. The proper way is to drill out the entire broken bolt, using a mildy oversized drill bit then re-thread the hole to accept a new bolt. You could Try drilling into the broken bolt just big enough to accept a self taping screw, which would have something on the threads to lock it in place (or tack weld it), if it were sticking out more I would say weld a l bolt head to it and back it out normally with a scocket wrench.

What if the inner timing cover has been stripped? Do I add a bigger boat or how does that work?
