Advice/help greatly appreciated concerning a remote start

I've got a small dilemma that I need help with. I recently bought an Ungo RS 151 remote start that I'm installing in a friends' car. But when I opened the box, the wiring diagram/instructions were for an RS 131, and the wires didn't even come CLOSE to what was on the paperwork.

I'm hoping that someone either has this system, or knows someone that has the wiring diagram for the RS 151 and can give me the wire colors/locations. I tried calling Ungo (Clarion-USA), as well as Pacific Coast Parts, which supplies Clarion with these, but they've been giving me the runaround.

Thanks in advance.

I bought a Clifford unit a few years ago from onsale.com. Thing came with one double-sided page that had photocopies of 2 of the pages from the installation manual. Only problem was that one side was unreadable. So I installed the unit using the picture diagram that was on the other page (little black lines labeled with colors going to different parts of the car).

However, when it came time to do the door locks, it was impossible to figure out (partly cause the diagram I had didn't tell how to do it, and party cause the chilton's book I had had **** for wireing diagrams).

Anyway, I ended up going to Tweeter (who I knew sold Clifford stuff) and after talking to one of the sales guys for a bit, I got him to photocopy the page on isntalling door locks from the installation manual.

And Clifford gave me the runaround too. Since the unit's are only supposed to be installed by professionals, they dont' give the directions out to anyone that wants them.

You must realize how many theives they get calling asking where to locate the valet switch or disableing feature.

So they are a little wary of callers wanting wiring diagrams.
Espeically ones that are supposed to come with a new alarm.

Which wire did you use for the door lock option. I can't find it and it is really bothering me. Thanks guy.

Put yourself in their shoes. They don't want to give out technical info on alarms due to people stealing them. Have it professionally installed unless you know exactly what you are doing.

It's not in the car I've got right now, so I'm not sure. If I remember correctly, there were 4 door lock wires on the unit I had, and depending on the make of your vehicle, you hooked them up differently (it all depends on how and what your door lock switches switch). One of the wires supplies power for locking, and the other for unlocking. If you trust yourself, you could use a volt-meter to measure which wire is which. Then use a service manual to look at how the door lock switches work, and splice the clifford unit's wires into your car's wires (at some point after they leave the drivers side door).
If you do that, be careful. My dad and I used the wireing diagrams from a Chilton's book when we installed it into a Sable, and we burnt up part of the Clifford unit (the wireing diagram had some lines missing in the diagrams in the switch -- most likely to poor printing quality when they published the book). We were able to fix the unit by taking it a apart and using wires to jump where the leads had peeled off the circuit boad (luckily they went before any of the components).

Unfortunately, that's the best advice I can give you unless you go to a place that installs them and try to get a copy of the installation page that shows how to wire the door locking feature (you might have chance at getting that. if you were really a thief, you'd probably be a lot more interested in other parts of the system). You could always bring a recipt and what instructions you have (if any).
