Is there a demand for 00-03 Bose Sub cut-out repair service?

Lot of people suffer from the intermittent cut-out issue in the 00-03 Bose sub.

There is a great how-to floating around on fixing it.

Just gauging if most of you guys have pretty much fixed the issue, or if the issue persists.

Is there a demand for a repair service? I'd be willing to do it for a fair price.

It is a 5 pin desolder, and add 1 small jumper wire. It's about as basic as it can get. I would think that 20 bucks along with shipping would do it.

$20 seems too low. It's not worth the time and trouble for that little. I looked over the write-up.

I'd be interested pending price. I need this done. I looked into having this done a while back, but I found out it was cheaper to just buy another head unit.

I would pay to have it fixed an, ugly head unit is not an option for me.
and good looking units are too expensive.

I need this fixing done as well. Considering the price/time is right you can deff count me in. I'm eventually looking for a new head unit but why not fix it in the meantime?

Looks like the part is $4.xx each + shipping. I can save a buck per piece if I buy 10, which basically covers shipping. I'd be willing to do this for $50 per unit, with the part and return shipping included in the price (approx $15 right there).

If I decide to do this, here's how I see it happening:

1. You remove your sub and harness from the car, ship it to me (you cover shipping to me)
2. PayPal me $50.
3. I repair the sub (using the "right" method from the thread) and ship it back using either UPS or USPS (insurance included). Expect an approx 2-3 day turnaround time.
4. You reinstall the sub.

Keep in mind, I've never actually done the repair, but from the above, the solder job is very easy for me. I'm only going on what's been recommended as supposedly fixing the issue.

IF this sounds good, let's get a list going. I'll do it in order of the below (assuming Payment is sent in order).

Mine just doesn't work and I don't know why.

What exactly do you do to these things?

Alright, clearly there's a skeptic in the room.

I disagree that anyone can solder a relay, as is evidenced below. I'm simply offering an opportunity for those that are not able to perform this fix themselves for various reasons.

I'd have imagined the success rate of the how-to thread would speak for itself. This relay is in fact the actual reason the sub cuts out, and it's across multiple vehicles, not just the Maxima.

As for your car, I'm not sure what's causing the issue if you've already done recommended fix.

Hand a PCB and a soldering iron to someone who's never soldered before and watch what happens.

Whoops. I was thinking the bose woofer cutoff and the left channel cut off were the same thing.

My skills extend about as far as the 4th gen LED window switch mod, I have two extra amps, three total.

I Don't mind frying one in the process of science!

yeah, it took me a while to notice, but i thought it was a 2000 and 2001 issue but yeah i have the sub cut out for sure. no worries, and we will see what happens.

Digi-Key, or Ace Electronic, or Fry's has them in stock. I don't know if you have those places local, but if so, they should have them. FWIW a jumper wire will fix it permanently also. Same current both ways, so it's no big deal.
