Are my Springs suppose to....
I recently got my rear control arms put, in at a shop, (which they pretty much messed up) and I noticed just this week that one of my spring looks different compared to the other spring?
I dont have the tools to get under the car to do it myself, but I thought I could get some feedback if im wrong or not?
I parked the car on a flat surface with nothing heavy on either side so you tell me if its normal or not!

^ Correct the dead coils are on the top and springs are often designed this way, another term used is "coil bind".
Judging from your picture something isn't quite right.
It's been a couple years now since I installed my Eibachs but I thought I saw a couple coils together (on top) which is normal in some applications. Sometimes you see rubber around some select coils where they can make contact.

That is false. In order to get the spring out you have to undo the spring bucket arm. When you bolt it back up it won't be the same. I guarantee it. It happened to my car.
Now they said they never touched the spring because it wasn't needed for the control arm install. . . I'm so confused
Normally that statement is true....as long as they aren't lying to you!
It's obvious (from your pictures) that at sometime in the past someone has had a wrench on the bolts for both rear lower links. The rust on the RH side bolt could indicate it was before these knuckle-heads touched your car. Who the hell knows?
P.S. The 2010 FSM RSU-9 illustration identifies these parts as #14 rear lower links. Calling them "spring bucket arms" as Racerbox does is actually a more descriptive term for the sake of these forum discussions.

To me it looks like your rear right spring has an insulator (rubber sleeve) that came off the spring and wedged itself between the top two turns of the spring. What looks like an extra coil turn must be the insulator. Just put it back on the spring in the same spot as your other side. Problem solved.
