1997 Maxima Hesitating.

Hi, the car is hesitating to accelerate from a stop. It doesn't happen all the time. Has any one had this problem? Please help if you can.

Have you tried check the Mass Air flow sensor? Maybe check the transmission level!

I cleaned the Mass Sensor about a year ago. The Transmission fluid is level. The service engine light isn't on either.

I'd say try spaying some B-12 inside the throttle body to clean the composites

You can just open up the housing where the air filter goes and as you give it a little gas spray a little B12 . Too much B12 will stall the engine, but you should be able to start it back up if that happens

No problem, hope it helps. If it does helps then then add a can of B12 to your gas tank after every oil change. That should keep everything clean.

Take off your intake starting from your airbox all the way to the throttle body and clean everything with brushes and intake cleaner. This is very easy. Takes me about 30 mins to take off, clean thoroughly and reattatch everything. Next you'll want to change out the spark plugs which is easy but a little more involved.

some links for you:

Full intake/egr cleaning

https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...g-dummies.html

note: If you do not have an egr code, I would not worry about the egr tube at this time, maybe clean the sensor going into the tube.

Spark plug replacement:

Note: Anything ngk are good for plugs. I (and lots of others) use ngk coppers becuase they are cheap and perform well.

Be careful regarding what you spray in the throttle body. I've never heard of spraying b 12 in there.

The throttle body has a Teflon coating inside it. Harsh chemicals can harm that.

CRC corp makes two good chemicals which are intended for this purpose. One is called Throttle Body Cleaner.
The other one is called Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaner.

Both are sprays.

The maf cleaner might help solve this.

For sure clean the intake system as has been suggested. But even after all that my symptoms were similar to yours with no CEL lit. Driveability was terrible to the point of almost unsafe. My issues ended up being the intake air temperature sensor and the MAF itself.
