VE30DE supplemental ground wire "fix" at PTU

Doing some extensive searching today, I found mention from old-school Nissan Techs of a "secret" Nissan TSB regarding VE stalling/bucking/hesitating problems.

Apparently, this TSB was a Band-Aid fix of sorts wherein a supplemental ground wire was ran from the power transistor unit straight to the battery negative terminal. I'm amazed that I have never heard of this. Unfortunately, that's all I was able to glean and couldn't find any specifics about it.

Doing some Google searching I can't find this TSB. Has anybody else heard of this "fix" or better yet have any tips on finding the actual TSB?

I haven't heard of this, but doesn't adding more/better grounds always help? I'm new to the VE however working on the 5.0 Lincolns, whenever we upgraded and added grounds the entire car ran better. I can't technically explain this, it just ran better. Cleaner and more consistent electricity possibly?

On my VE 5 speed I ran all new grounds, sort of mimicking the ground kit that blehmco used to sell. I'm going to get the pinouts for the PTU and simply run a new ground, I don't see how it can hurt.

Yes more grounds certainly don't hurt, although this is separate from a typical "ground kit" (which I had on my old black VE and didn't help one bit with its stalling issues lol).

I'm just amazed I haven't ever heard of this and that there was some sort of Nissan-sanctioned "secret" Band-Aid fix involving the PTU.

I think there probably was never an official TSB, perhaps just maybe an inside-knowledge Band-Aid fix amongst Nissan techs years ago.

It looks like the bottom side harness of the PTU, the very center wire is a ground wire. I would GUESS the process is to just tap into that wire and run the other end to the battery negative terminal.
