The car starts up perfectly and idles fine. When cold it just stalls out if i put it into gear. If i let it warm up it feels like its choking about to stall out then after 1/4 mile or so of driving it drives perfect. There is no check engine light. What could this be? Every timemy mechanic "fixes" it the car drives perfect, even on a cold start, then the next morning the problem returns. This is after the 5th time my mechanic fixed it. I am not sure exactly what he did each time.

 

maybe ask him what he is doing to "fix" it so we will maybe have some idea of what the issue is.

 

Ill ask him later today but I know that each time he fixes it the transmission has to come out of the car. The initial fix was for a bad shift into second and ever since then the car has been a huge problem car.

 

Find out exactly what the mechanic is fixing, but hes not fixing anything if you continue to have the same problem. And why would they need to drop the transmission??
