Is your 1997 engine still available? If so, can you give more info about its condition and history, such as are you the original owner and where is rest of the Maxima that it came from. I have a 1996 Maxima GLE with 267,000 miles that I have owned since new that has a great body overall, but there all kinds of needed repairs, i.e., all motor mounts, rear and front valve cover gaskets, noisy timing chain, leaking power steering hoses, replacing original cat converter, leaking front and rear main seals, new struts needed, probably new power steering pump and new front seat covers. If your engine is in very good to excellent shape, I would love to swap engines and hang on to my Maxima, the best car I have ever owned since my first new car, 1972 Cutlass Supreme which is still sitting in my garage. I live in Atlanta area and know it would not be easy to ship it here. Also, I keep reading on Maxima forum that it would be best to swap to a VQ35 engine, but there seems to be a multitude of problems with doing the swap!
