98 maxima fuel issue

hi to all, I have a fuel issue and I am on a very tight budget so im trying to fix this myself problems
1.hard to start
2.idles fine when started
3.can drive slow but when giving more gas it stutters
what I did thus far
4.change fuel filter
5.tried fuel pressure test on line(from autozone tool loan program and was A piece of crap leaky valve connection but managed to get a reading 34PSI)
6.verified pump is on and working
7.disconnected pressure valve from air intake no gas coming out also when pressure tester was on i crimped the return hose and the pressue rose to about 40PSI
almost certain its the fuel pump or fuel regulator still stuck on what to buy as I can only afford one right now.
any one have any tips as which it could be ?thanks to all for any help

Are there any codes being thrown? Check it with a free reading at Autozone or something, if the CEL is on.
Also sounds like it could be something like an ignition coil, but you'd have to know which one to replace, as all 6 can get expensive. Try cleaning throttle body and MAF sensor as well, only use the MAF cleaner spray.

There are a lot of possibilities for this problem. I don't think the fuel pump is it. Maybe the MAF, maybe the TPS (Throttle position Sensor) among others.

You should test your injectors while you are performing all this diagnosis. Rule out all possibilities.

If you spray starting ether into you air intake, then you can see if it tries to start. If it does, then you have a fuel issue, otherwise it is probably a spark (ignition) issue.

Just a thought...
