water pump suggestion

Finally tackled this job, what appears simple is a real pain due to limited access.. One thing I did that may help others... When reinstalling the covers for the water pump and tensioner, I inserted M6 studs (about 3/4 inch long) into 2 of the 4 holes, to act as guide pins to locate the covers.. Once the cover is pressed into place, add the 2 retaining bolts to the empty holes, then remove the studs and add the other 2 bolts... Given the lack of space to work with, I really had no idea how I was going to hold the cover in place to start the bolts without making a real mess.. hope this tip helps someone out...

I did the same thing, and it definitely helped, but I was still worried that I smeared the RTV getting it in place. If I was doing it again, I'd stick a magnet on the outside of the cover so there would be something other than the edges of the cover to hold onto.
