Changing the wooden trim to silver - is it possible?
Hey guys. I have a 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum and was thinking of doing some upgrading. Gonna get bigger wheels, and was thinking of also changing that wooden trim to the aluminum one that the SR trim has. Anyone know if its doable? Has anyone done this before?
Also a side question, would 19 or 20 inch wheels go alright with normal suspension that the Platinum version has? Or would I scrape the bottom of the vehicle every time I hit a bump on the road? Not sure how it works, just all the videos I have seen about Maximas with 20 inch wheels all sit very low, a lot less ground clearance.

I wasn't a big fan of the "wood" paneling either at first, now I hardly even notice it's there.
Seems that car makers have this preconceived notion that luxury means having wood trim somewhere in the cabin. Just be thankful they didn't get the bright idea to put a analog clock in there too.... I'm looking at you Genesis, blech

Thats a great idea, thank you, never even thought about that. Do you think I would need to take off the wood trim in order to wrap it? Or just use hot air or some kind of glue to make the wrap stick to the surface? Im really new at this whole customizing a vehicle stuff, my last 3 cars I bought brand new from the dealership and never changed a single screw on them.

Nearly *every* manufacturer is frowning on leases right now, *especially* sedan leases.
We got our Pathfinder Platinum for $435 in December 2015 (zero down, none of that '$5000 due at signing nonsense'). Today? $550-600. And Georgia cut taxes on leases ("TAVT") in half.

I was initially not happy with the plastic look of the trim in the Platinum. Even thought about steel wooling (000) off the gloss and putting on low luster wax. In the end, it's a lease car and I would get the resale whack at turn in. Best to let it ride as is

wheels and tires are 245/35/20. 8.5” wide. No rub and stock suspension, it actually looks like my back is lifted and makes my car look bigger. Plenty of clearance. Good luck!
