Auto climate control sensor
Auto climate control sensor
Anyone know what this part is and if it would cause my recirc/defrost function on my a/c to not work. My car is a 98 with digital climate control, the a/c still works just not able to recirc so im not breathing exhaust fumes while in traffic
22 is the code for the in-vehicle temperature sensor. It has failed the test.
25 is the code for the sun load sensor. If you did not run the test outside in the sun or was inside a not brightly lit garage, it will fail the test. If you were outside in daylight and got this code, then the sun load sensor is bad.
30 is the code for all the tests in section 3 completed successfully.
But the problem of not being able to get the recirculate air function to work would not be any of the codes you mentioned, nor would those codes cause the problem.. It would be a code in section 3 of the tests, most likely code 39.
Code 39 says the motor that moves the vent duct door for recirculate is bad. But the motor could be good and the control panel with the buttons could be bad and this would not cause a code. Another possibility is that the connecting arm between the motor and the air door could have come off.
Take out the glove box and look up in there while you press the buttons and see if the arm is on and the motor is moving.

Thanks. I removed the glove box and everything is in place. The button doesnt even light up so, it may be the control panel is bad. I'll have to try thr Pick n pull for another panel and see if thats the issue
Probably just the light itself on the control panel, they tend to go out after awhile. I don't see a single button on a circuit giving out just by itself

In the Nissan Service manual, section HA page 62 states "Recirculation is canceled when AUTO, DEF or ECON is selected. Recirculation resumes when another mode
is chosen." I hope you are not using one of these modes as nothing you can do will "fix" it.
If you are going to get another control panel, be advised that only the 98 & 99 control panels will work in your car. Control panels from 95 to 97 cars look almost the same (one less button) and will install, but they are different electrically and will not work.
Personally, I would follow the diagnostic process in the service manual (section HA, page 100) before buying any parts.
