Burning smell from using the heater

For some reason i smell something burning when my heater gets hot enough but its not overly strong smell since at times when im driving i don't smell it. I look under the hood i don't see nor smell anything burning. Not leaking oil still have the original gaskets i think since my car have 73000 miles. What could this be? This happened every day since im using the heater.

When this smell is present, have you inspected the e-compartment?

Is the smell present in the e-compartment also or is it only inside the car?

Are you adding oil more often than in the past?

Only in the car and the smell goes away a bit when driving on the highway but if u smell really hard u could smell the burning odor. Idk wat to do besides just live with it since its about to be 23 yr old car. Plus don't have the money to really fix the car. It runs fine tho

anythings possible, maybe pull the head unit and see if everything's connected properly.

The source is either from under the hood or in the dashboard.

One of the heater buttons is a fresh air or recirculating button.

press the button to recirculate the air.

If the smell goes away, the source is under the hood, and most likely from a leaking valve cover.

if the smell persists, it's most likely from the dashboard, and related to the stereo.
