Foam under the rug

I have a leak coming from somewhere by the A pillar/firewall. I have done everything listed here. Sealed the cowl clips and had a windshield replaced (it had to it was cracked) and it still leaks in the passengers side. The sunroof drain is not clogged. Until I can pull my dash to see where it is coming from (I suspect a seam) I have to put towels under my Carpet when it rains heavy. I need some backup foam if this one's tears beyond recognition. Anyone have a few lying around?

You can find those carpet foam at home depot. It comes in a roll and you can cut them to fit. It's what's use in homes. Carpet padding.

In the the meantime, if you can’t keep your car garaged, you may want to purchase an inexpensive waterproof car cover.

Pull the seats, remove the carpet and everything blocking the view of the floor area. Spray the car spot by spot and watch the floor to see where the water drops from. FIX IT!

Black Mold isn't far away! Nor is that stink that goes hand in hand.

All while replacing the padding. Get some 3M Spray Contact adhesive to lock it in place before reinstalling.

If you have a sunroof, there is a gutter system that catches the water all around the panel. That gets offed to 4 tubes in the corners that bring it the bottom of the car to drain out. In my Maxima, the passenger tube pulled out and the water was under the carpet on the passenger floor. I put hose clamps on all four so it NEVER detaches again!
