OBDII port not working, brake and gas light on. Need help.

I have been trying everything in my power to figure out why my OBD port is not working. Has the bright light on the gas and the speedometer not working. I try my best to look for any grounds in the dashboard wire hornist I don’t have a wire hornist I don’t have any fuses blowing on the hood name on the steering wheel? I don’t know what else to do so anybody help me or leave me in the right direction thanks!!

You post this at 5:23am on a Sunday morning and you expect help right away? oof

Your description is poor. What is the main issue? Brake light is on? How does the car drive and behave?

Again, what is your main problem?

Is the car on (but not running) when you say the OBDII port has no power?

Check out this thread. There are two good suggestions within that worked for other Maxima owners. Let us know if you fixed the problem.

Did you try connecting your code reader to a different vehicle to see if it works?

So now is the time to brimg out a voltmeter or test light. Test pin 16 to a good ground. If power there, then check between pins 16 and pin 4. Most likely this will show 0 volts. If no power to pin 16, you have a wiring or connector issue. You are just going to have to use your tools and Mark 1 calibrated eyeball to track it down

Any background info? Since when did the scan tool fail to communicate with the car? Any repairs before?

Since you’ve tried your scan-tool on a different OBDII vehicle, how about trying a different scan-tool on this vehicle?

Check that the connector pins on your tool are not bent.
