New here, Need advice re Maxima value

Hi! My roommate has had his 2002 Maxima SE parked in our driveway for about 4 years, with a bad catalytic converter. It has fuel in it, so the fuel system will also need work, obviously. The engine turns over and everything was working fine when parked aside from the blocked cat. He just wants to get rid of it, but I told him it's probably worth something as a parts car or fixer.

Any advice? I'd hate for him to get $100 from the guy who picks up cars, there are a ton of good parts on there, including the engine and transmission.

CA CARB catalytic converters are expensive and hard to find. If he is not willing to put money into it, at least ask him to list it on fb marketplace and disclose what the car needs. Might be able to get more money for it that way.

Thanks! It needs a lot more than that. I'm kind of wondering what it would be worth as a parts car or should we just part it out. Ideally someone would just buy it from us for like 500 or $800 and then part it out themselves. From what I see on eBay the parts are probably worth a total of around two or three thousand...?

Thanks! Yes I'll have him post on FB. I don't use zuck's products myself. 😁
