Driver window doesn't let down even with new regulator motor.
2016 plat. Got the car used 3 months ago and guy said oh it just needs a motor. Welp upon taking the door apart I see holes that was covered and painted over that probably came in contact with wires I'm guessing. He drilled extra holes to get the window up and bolt it in place since the motor didn't work, wire that connects to the driver mirror is missing, the only light that illuminate at night is the arrow buttons to control the side mirrors the rest do not light up. The white and red cable that connects to the regulator motor has been taped back together.
For trial & error I got a peace of wire and rigged it into one of the other live wires (the connector that has red white and light green, green had power) and connected it to one of the tapped (white) wires that connects to the motor and the regulator moves up. I then connected onto the red wire then the regulator moves the window down. I also touched the other ends of the cables to see if they are connected to anything and both cables (red & white) just sparks. When I press down or up on the master switch I do not hear any clicks or anything attempting to move... Looks like I ordered a new regulator for nothing as both moved when power was applied.
Ive been googling all week. Don't know which fuses to check. Bcm, don't think it's that since everything else work (minus the driver mirror but the cable that connects to it is missing), master switch?
I'm thinking of finding a way to use power from another wire and splice it to one of the cables that connects to the regulator motor but I don't know which of the 5 cables that connects to the motor is the actual power cable that remains live when the vehicle is on.
Note: link shows the red white light green cable connector I tapped in to power the regulator motor.
