Slightly noisy lifters???

My wife's 2016 maxima with only 42k miles has what I think are noisy lifters while driving. IDK if it's lifters, or maybe noisy fuel injectors??? It's definitely rpm related. Are these engines slightly noisy?? Bought it new, religiously changed oil. Wondering if I should bump viscosity to 5w30? Just looking for some thoughts.

Based on what I read these engines are rock solid and very quiet. Lifter noise is a quandary, especially in light of the fact that you've done due diligence with oil and filter changes. It is my opinion that thicker oil will not do anything to solve this problem. If it is the lifters, One or more could just be a little gummed up. I know you think this is a crank suggestion, but I've always sworn by Marvel Mystery Oil. You can get it at your local automotive aftermarket retail store. Add it to your oil and it does wonders for lubricating and quieting lifters. This product just works for what it is designed for. Many of we mechanics swear by it for special situations like this. It is very popular in the mechanic world. Good luck and report back here so we can find out if it works. By any chance does this car spend a lot of time with short around town hops, as opposed to long distance trips once in awhile?

Mostly 10 mile trips each way back and forth to work. Mostly highway. Plenty of 100 mile round trips on highway too. I guess the marvel mystery oil couldn't hurt

Yes I do agree that mystery oil might be the best course of action. It really does help. Using synthetic oil now? Hs PCV valve been changed lately?
