slow maxima -- also loud fuel injectors

hi guys, my old user name here was Shaun Ladd, but anyways, here it is. My 2k auto Maxima seems very sluggish. I have an intake and have replaced the spark plugs and have a new MAF sensor. My car has 56k miles on it. Also, it seems like the fuel injectors tick relatively loud compared to the car as a whole. I can hear the fuel injectors ticking over the engine running. WHY IS THIS? Does everyones fuel injectors tick loudly? I am almost ready to drop it off at a service station for their $89.95 fuel injection system cleaning. but before I do that, can someone give me some advice??? also, I use synthetic oil. I don't really know if that matters that much in a family car though...

Thanks,
Shaun Ladd

ticking? I doubt the fuel injectors are ticking... If you are hearing a ticking noise, it could be noisy valves or maybe a noisy timing chain.

do the valves require servicing on the Maxima? How often should the timing chain be checked? My car only has 56k miles on it, so I would assume both of these should be ok. And yes, fuel injectors do tick.

My injectors are loud as h*ll too @ around 45k(2k auto).....Must be common I guess? I have yet to hear any real valve noise, so they must be alright. And your timing Chain does not need to be checked for a long while. Peace......

You remove fuel injectors by just pulling them out, right?

I was told that my fuel injectors were ticking by the service manager when I asked about the noise. He said it was normal. He's always been pretty straight with me. No reason not to believe him. I've had no problems with power loss, tho.
